Deceptive chair from designers block blog

This is seriously weird. Shown at Milan Design Week recently, it's a canvas that you can actually sit in. I love quirky designs like this. By Yoy, found at Yatzer

The Cloud That Will Make You Smile
This rainwater collector is called - The Cloud That Will Make You Smile. Well it doesn't make me smile at this moment in time as I am sick of the sight of clouds and rain come to that. London basks in sunshine and Northumberland basks in rain. Just not fair. Found at 1 Design Per Day

New ipad (mini?) supersentive Pen for taking notes and drawing released soon

I've been following these designers this year as they develop this pen and now it's about to be released.   Interestingly in their FAQ on compatibility, they mention the mini ipad?  What do they know?  Surely they needed to be in contact with Apple for future compatibility?

rumours of ipad mini in october - 7.8" retina display

Could it look like this?

It also has a great no-see magnet ipad stand.

Designers Block - Beautiful ipad docking station by Scott Eaton and a minimalist Japanese Bakery

More great finds by designers block.

Soctt Easton has designed this lovely quirky ipad docking station.  His site shows his beautiful drawings and the design process.  It's nice to see the crossover between art and design.
Gives me ideas to make plaster/paper mache one - curled up cat with reading glasses or maybe wo/man's butt cheeks?

2. also like the simple/minilimast Japanese Bakery - i must de-clutter my kitchen.

Poppy Teffrey - St Ives Desinger

I found this designer in St Ives Cornwall and I get her e-newsletter.  I have added her to my fav sites today.  I love her sweet simple design.

Claire Bassler Paris Exhibition - how i wish i could have seen it

My favourite nature painter.   I will go to her Paris gallery one day but this exhibition had so much of her work.   She has another exhibition on currently in Avalon France.  Am I adventurous enough to try and get there or perhaps I will see more in her Paris Gallery?  Investigation needed.

Designer Block - Faces

Great idea.  Looks interesting.  Will try a version where part of face is done as drawing.

'I just love the mix of art and photography here. American make up artist Yadim has created these images inspired by the vintage illustrations for Dior by of Rene Gruau. Stroke of Genius. Found at Dazed Digital'

Linking to my Fav designer blog - Designers Block: cardboard frames and chicken footstools

I know I have this blog linked on my side bar but I've just been trying to find a particular blog about knitted chair covers in it and can't find it so I am going to blog each time I see something in her newsletter that I particularly like (well everything is wonderful but perhaps things that are relevant to what I am wanting to do).  I can then search it on my blog as she doesn't seem to have a search.

So I am starting with:

1. wonderful things made from cardboard:  http://designersblock.blogspot.co.uk/2012_06_01_archive.html

2. chicken footstools - because Kim and I were discussing shrunken jumpers and these looked like they are covered with felt or shrunken wool:  http://designersblock.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/put-your-feet-up-on-chicken.html
